NHS staff and volunteers will be expected to continue to follow social distancing rules when deployed to or visiting any care setting as well as using face coverings, mask and other personal protection equipment. The Voluntary Partnerships team at NHS England and NHS Improvement are advising that local NHS trust based volunteering services continue to follow NHS Covid-19 volunteering guidance and to ensure alignment of local trust volunteering and staff policies/processes to ensure volunteers are afforded the same protections and treatment as NHS staff with regards to Covid-19 measures. This includes aligning approaches to risk assessment and mitigations.
